So when do you know that you are not playing the game and the game is playing you?

How many of you would rather play than do anything else, and before you make any plans in your real life, consult your gaming schedule?
I am not a hard core gamer at this point in life, because I don’t chose to be.

And I don’t chose to be because I don’t want to live an all or nothing kind of life, which being a hard core gamer would entail. For example belonging to a Wracraft raiding guild that meets 5 times a week and is very strict on attendance would be taking it a bit to far for my taste, or scheduling meetings, taking jobs, making dates when my first consideration would be if it would fit in with my nightly raiding would also be a bit much for me - and believe me - I can see how one could get there.

But then, you needs to remember exactly why it is you started playing in the fist place, and probably the answer or part of the answer would be “because its fun”. You needs to ask yourself - if the fun is still there, and if not,
As Ravven says

The game is not fun anymore, and once a game isn’t fun, you need to put down the mouse or the controller and go do something else.

Back to my initial question of how you know you are no longer playing the game but the game is playing you, is the moment you realize that you are no longer having fun, but are still hanging onto the mouse or controller for dear life.

I would say, that would be the moment to call it a game.
