As a general rule Dragons are not really a good choice for a familiar by any standards. The reasons for this are mainly because dragons are not creatures that can be controlled easily, and that they are so certain of their own superiority. There are several lesser dragon-kin that might be subjectable to being a familiar but that is ultimately up to your DM to make that decision.
