Well, the wait is slowly nearing a possible end. I say slowly because I have been waiting for this game for awhile now and the time seems to crawl by and by “possible end” I mean they have declared a “possible” release date of Origins 2010.
If you aren’t familiar with the books, grab the first one and give it a try. You can feel in the first one the fact that it is one of the author’s first books. The writing is a little on the flimsy side, but the story he tells is great, and it only gets better as they books go along. The entire story is told from the main character’s (Harry Dresden) point of view. His history isn’t all laid out at the beginning, but revealed throughout the books. Not a bad thing since it is a cohesive back story that you can tell the author had sorted out before writing. In other words, Harry’s back story doesn’t change as the books go along as I have run into in other stories by other authors.
The game is being developed by Evil Hat Productions and is using their Fate system. While I am unfamiliar with the system itself, I am going to have to remedy that. Everything I have read concerning it and how it plays makes me want to see more of it.

To bad the writing is not as good as the story, I find that good writing always adds a lot of strength to the story.
I agree. His writing is not the best, but it has gotten better over time. Comparing the first book to the eleventh book, there is a definite improvement. It really bothered me at first, but then I got to where I didn’t care because the story was so much fun.
