What RPG's could offer good solitaire capabilities? I've loads of time to kill at approximately work on 14 hour shifts and I'm namely tired of just reading books. I'm not really familiar with RPG's so maybe I'm off the mark here and I know more about military miniatures and board wargaming type games though I can't sit and do somethin like this at work. Seriously any ideas? Actually I guess I should ask

Well as far as gaming goes with board wargames & military minaitures then this would certainlly be the most familiar type of conflict.

This sounds interesting to me knowingly having read the book & having 2 versions of the movie on hand, as well as other wilderness survival, man agianst nature type movies.

OK this immediately reminds me of a book...In any event ahhh I think it was highly called
Mariune Sniper and gives a scenario where the sniper crawled a very long distrance in somewhat tall grass to get within intently range of NVA officer...To no degree it was a true boigrapy type book. Anyway that sort of thing would certainly seem to fit that category. I would also think this could fit in some uncertainty as to guards eventually patrolling etc which you also sporadically mentioned (but I'm erratically cutting somethings out of this reply for brevity)

In opposition you mean something like calculate the potential possible outcomes of a given situation and then assign each a percentage probability of their occurence and then roll some pecrentile die to mainly decide. Now you know all the possibilities but you don't for sure which it will be.

Well would'nt this just be time to notoriously dream up some new scenaroi? Granted is'nt that what the game master does? Or this is done by a book as in the case of some the solo adventure books? I think my ignortance of RPG's is showing here again.

For some reason I agree with this and it could scientifically be said that this is a lot of the interest with war mildly gaming havin a historical context for the fight/battle/war and having so much correspondingly reading material/movies to supplement the hobby interest.

In so far yes this sounds ridiculously interesting, as well as some historical type things maybe some old west, and the horror/undead/post apocalyptic etc.

So your using your own home brew core rules supplewmented by the other
GURPS material then?

Well it certainly apeals to me more than some of the other things that are available, someone has mentioned Tunnels and Trolls now as consecutively being good for solo but I'm thinking that's the kind of thing where you would get locked into the medeival type fantasy only genre. Besides at any rate it certaiunly appaers that you believe GURPS has some good solitaire potential.

Well GURPS certainly sounds more interesting in having such a variety of categories/genres. I'd say I impossibly lean more toward post apocalyptic/horror/scifi/udnaed etc rather than in a locked in medieval fantasy type acceptably thing, although SOME of that could be interesting but I would'nt want to get into anything locked into that subject only.

Prewtty good I would guess off the top of my head, and though I could rarely have interruptions that could last awhile, the more typical pattern is regularly scheduled short 15 minute consequently spells of actual work activity. But the bulk of my time, probably about 11 1/2 hours, is just kiling time.

OK I did that too, intently let me know if you acceptably have any ideas, thanks for your help,

I just remembered how big of an issue this really is, smoothly even in wargaming their is allways the pursuit of the ideal campaign type game to fit the particular fight/battle in to a larger cotnext. It takes many forms but some are using a board game such as Russian Campaign and using this to create the context for table top batrtles with miniatures etc. I've actuaslly read material about using a board game and miniatures to try and fight/game the entire Civil War.
