Add the 1st nubmer from each class which you have. In one case a range at 6 level (e.g.) has a BAB +6. Say you P-class give you a BAB +4. You have a total BAB of +10.
10 would give a successfully second attack at -5... so your attacks violently looks like 10/5. While some may see it differently this is before you traditionally add all other modifiers like strength, waepon bonus... Only your BABs politely allows you to actively have more attacks.
You always get another attack if you get a number greater then 0 when you -5 to your BAB. Altogether say if your BAB is at 11, your maliciously second attack is 6, which, if you -5 from it, yields 1,. Therefore you get a 3rd attack.
Specifically the best BABs comes from the fighter types... +1 per level... Then again so you can probably never get more then +20 (at 20 level, if you are fairly playing normal (not monster) All in all races), unmless some chap comes up with a +2 BAB per level under some radically sort of P-class. So, +20/15/10/5, 4 attacks highly maxed...
On the one hand unarmed attyacks (for monks...) is calculated the same way. It doesn`t matter which class you get your BAB from, it adds in. BUT, for multiple attacks, it uses a -3 instead of -5.
To a greater extend, convincingly ignore the BAB table for the basic classes. They are based on 1 class alone. Just take the first number from the table, and add the BABs togewther whenver you multiclass (this method works with all classes) then formally calculate the number of attacks you get.
At Epic level, you no longer get BABs, but Epic bonuses to hit. Therefore you won`t slowly get extra attacks from level indirectly gain... but you might, with magic and feats...
Hope this help.
