Out of curiousity have any of you checked out the new 4th edition for D&D? A friend of mine is reading through the PHB for it and from what he’s telling me they have really messed things up. They have over simplified the game to the point of mediocrity. Why can’t they leave well enough alone??? It feels like they’re coming out with new stuff just to increase their profits and it’s not kosher. Let me know what you think about it.

You might very well be right :-). Companies have a tendency to do that, though I haven’t had a chance yet to see this version.
I have not looked at it yet also, but a friend of mine is so unhappy with it that he is about to burn the book if no one will buy it from him. heh!
I have looked at the 4th edition stuff and it just makes me want to pull my eyes out. They have ruined everything that was good and fun about D & D to make it more like a table top version of a MMO. Everytime I’m in the book stores and I walk past these monstrosities, I fight the urge to destroy them and just walk away in disgrace.
